Frequently asked questions about change to new uniform:
Where and when will the new uniform be available?
The new uniform will be supplied by SAS Sports Ltd through the Uniform Shoppe, 376 Great South Rd, Papatoetoe. The uniform will be available from January onwards. Caregivers can pay in advance for the uniform by visiting the Uniform Shoppe or their web-site.
Are there different uniform items for boys and girls?
Our uniform is gender neutral, as in students can wear whatever item they feel most comfortable in.
What about head scarves and turbans?
It is our preference that head scarves and turbans be the school colours.
Why can’t Year 13 wear mufti anymore?
The Board of Trustees and the School Senior Leadership Team, having considered the feedback received, decided that the year 13 students will be in school uniform from 2019 onwards.
Can Year 13 choose whether to wear the regulation grey shirt or the Year 13 white one?
For 2019, Year 13 students can wear either their current uniform or the new white shirt option. From 2020, Year 13 students are required to wear the year 13 white shirt option. This allows our most senior students to have a point of difference just as they had with mufti.
Can old and new uniform items be mix and matched?
In 2019 all year 9 students are expected to wear the new uniform. For students in year 10-12 in 2019 they can chose to wear their current uniform or the new one. For the transition period mix and match is acceptable. Once the new uniform reaches the relevant year level the new uniform is the only option.
Will the old uniform still be available to purchase?
The old uniforms are still available for purchase from the current suppliers.
What about 2020 onwards?
In 2020 the year 9, 10 and 13+ students will be in the new uniform. Students in years 11 and 12 can wear either old or new. In 2021 all students will be expected to wear the new uniform.
